![]() The rising sun peaks over the Gros Ventre Mountain Range, illuminating the peaks of the Tetons and caressing the weathered wood of this old barn on Mormon Row. This area was settled by Mormon homesteaders in 1896. Philanthropist John D. Rockefeller later visited the area and saw the beauty and promise of the land. He purchased land around the Tetons and in Jackson Hole for the purpose of preserving it. Congress established Grand Teton National Park in 1929.
