 A field of blue surrounds this abandoned home place in the Hill Country of Central Texas. Bluebonnets, as Texans call them, are a member of the lupine family. Good spring rains bring carpets of blue along roadways and on farms, ranches and hillsides in early April. Some are strewn here by Mother Nature. Some, through the works of Lady Bird Johnson. A legacy of beauty.
