 The air was filled with the intoxicating aroma of fields of lavender in bloom. The sight was stunning: wave upon wave of purple haze. An unexpected treat, stumbled upon while driving through north-east Washington, near the small town of Sequim. They were having their yearly Lavender Festival, and the perfume and beauty of this captivating herb filled the valley. The festival is held the third week of July.
